DOT/CDL Physicals

Commercial Driver License physicals, required by the Department of Transportation, are offered by the Doctors at Advanced Chiropractic of Mankato. Because of their training and certification, Drs. Walters, Schaff, Dubbelde and Black are qualified to perform Medical Physicals to determine commercial driver fitness.

Who needs DOT/CDL Physicals?

The Department of Transportation (DOT) requires medical physicals to be performed by certified medical examiners listed on the National registry to all individuals who...

  1. Drives a single vehicle designed to transport 8 or more people (including the driver) for compensation (Example Limo/ Bus Driver).

  2. Operate vehicles that transport hazardous materials (Example Gas Suppliers).

  3. Drives vehicles used to deliver packages and other articles (Example Delivery Trucks/ Vans).

  4. Drives single unit and combination vehicles of over 10, 000 pounds GVW (Example Construction Vehicles/ Landscaping Trailers).

What to expect...

The physical generally takes between 20 and 30 minutes. It includes a health history, vision and hearing exam, heart and lung auscultation, blood pressure/ height/ weight, neuromuscular examination and urinary analysis.

Because the examination is needed for occupational purposes and not for a health condition, insurance companies do not cover the cost. Our charge for the complete physical is $100.

We will need you to provide a copy of your driver's license as proof of identity, a complete list of all current medications (including over the counter and supplements), their dosage, and prescribing doctor's name. It is not necessary to bring in your actual medications. We also need a list of all surgeries, as well as when and where they were performed.
